International Beaver Day – April 7th
🌍 International Beaver Day – April 7th 🦫
Celebrating Nature’s Hardest Working Engineer!
Every year on April 7th, we celebrate International Beaver Day — a special day dedicated to one of nature’s most incredible creatures: the beaver! 🛠️🌲
But this isn’t just about cute animals with big teeth and flat tails — it’s about recognizing their powerful role in protecting our planet.
🧠 Why Beavers Matter:
Beavers are known as “ecosystem engineers.” Why? Because when they build dams, they don’t just make a home for themselves — they create entire wetland habitats that support fish, birds, insects, and even improve water quality!
👩🔬 Honoring the “Beaver Woman”
International Beaver Day was inspired by Dorothy Richards, who spent 50 years studying and protecting beavers. She dedicated her life to understanding these fascinating animals and promoting wetland conservation.
